Chambers Group has an immediate need for Assistant and Associate Biologists with 2+ years of related experience in wildlife biology for some high profile projects. The right candidate will demonstrate initiative, good verbal and written communication skills, technical field skills and knowledge of ecology, conservation biology and restoration, and creativity. Experience in performing focused wildlife surveys and experience in southern California biological resources are important. The successful candidate should have progressive experience in environmental consulting and a graduate degree in biological sciences or related discipline. Project/task management experience is a plus. Lab-related biology degrees and experience need not apply.

Chambers Group has an immediate need for senior biologists/project managers with a minimum of seven years of overall experience in natural resources, biology, and solid project management. Project management experience should include management of multiple projects, both large and small; experience dealing with agencies, staff, and subcontractors, and complete familiarity with project budget management, and work schedules and coordination. Experience in southern California is important. Work is available immediately and will be full-time. This work will be done in the office with field visits, as needed, to manage projects. BA in Natural Sciences or related field. Lab-related biology degrees and experience need not apply.

Chambers Group is looking for a seasoned environmental professional. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of recent experience in preparing and managing CEQA and NEPA documents. This position will be responsible for managing project teams of in-house technical staff and subconsultants in the preparation of complex environmental documents within prescribed schedules and budgets. The ability to lead and work as part of the team while maintaining constant and positive communication with clients is critical. This senior-level position is also responsible for supplementing our business development team by seeking out new work from existing and potential clients. The ideal candidate needs to possess strong interpersonal skills and, preferably, has established industry ties to potential public- and private-sector clients. The successful candidate must have a BA/BS degree in environmental studies, planning, or a related discipline. A MA/MS degree is preferred.

Position Summary
Responsible for managing respective department and/or providing dedicated management of large, complex projects/programs to meet client and company objectives.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
•Performs stormwater runoff Best Management Practice (BMP) assessment, design, implementation,
and monitoring including treatment and collection system evaluations.
• Experienced with the study and design of federal and municipal clients stormwater programs.
•Responsible for design and/or evaluation of stormwater runoff BMPs and treatment systems, identifying deficiencies, developing recommended retrofits, estimating costs, and designing facilities to correct deficiencies.
•Experienced in performing design and implementation of regional stormwater monitoring programs.
•Performs as project manager responsible for developing proposals, performing fieldwork, writing project reports, project budget, timeliness, quality of deliverables, and client liaison.
•Develops marketing strategies for water resource services, identifies new potential clients,
and meets with clients to market services.
•Manages resource department; hires, supports, and trains staff.
•Develops and writes proposals for large, complex programs.
•Supervises and coordinates all project efforts when program involves multiple projects, divisions, or offices.
•Develops and supervises implementation of program master schedule to meet cost and schedule objectives.
•Serves as primary client interface and is accountable to client for optimal utilization of company resources to meet client requirements.
•Provides input to General Manager and Department Managers to assure proper utilization and scheduling of manpower.
•Responsible for “farming existing clients” for work Develops new business with concentration on existing key accounts and their referrals. Works with Marketing to enhance sales with existing clients and target new key accounts.
•Trains staff in project management.
•Participates in strategic planning and budgeting processes.
•Manages larger projects and multiple-disciple contracts for clients
•Written and oral communication skills commensurate with this level of responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must possess excellent leadership, business development, organizational, and communications skills. Must be proficient in managing total P&L of multiple project and multiple entity programs and accountable for both client and company resources.
 
Education and/or Experience
 
At least 13 years experience in the field with 8 years of demonstrated success in developing and managing projects without supervision, at least 5 years of which involve the successful management of large, complex, multi-project, multi-entity projects designated as Programs due to major deployment of client and company resources. Successful experience in business development developing new clients and momentum sales .MS or equivalent in technical area required; some business training or course work preferred. Expert knowledge of current and state-of-the art stormwater treatment technologies. Through experience, expert knowledge for developing plans, specifications and cost estimates.
